Examinations
Council Licensure Examination.
The Psychology Council conducts licensure examinations for foreign-trained psychologists, therapists, paraprofessionals and lay practitioners, as well as for locally trained applicants who do not meet the prescribed conditions for direct registration.
Eligibility
- Foreign-trained applicants holding a recognised qualification in Psychology or Applied Psychology.
- Locally trained applicants whose programme is not yet accredited or whose curriculum does not fully meet the registration requirements.
- Applicants seeking re-entry to the profession after a prolonged break.
Examination Format
- Written component — knowledge of ethics, law and core competencies.
- Case-based assessment — applied judgment and clinical reasoning.
- Oral viva for selected categories.
Sitting Schedule
Licensure examinations are typically held twice a year. Dates and venues are communicated to applicants by the Council Secretariat upon registration.

Submit a complete licensure examination application along with academic transcripts, proof of identity, and the prescribed examination fee to the Council Secretariat.
